The Wetland Ecosystem

This page is currently in development. Please check back

Kaelepulu Wetland is a small part of a larger ecosystem. The Hawaiian expression, Mauka to Makai (from the mountains to the sea) is clearly evident here. What happens in the mountains affects the wetland, then affects the lake, and eventually affects the beach, the ocean, and the coral reefs. It is one interconnected ecosystem.
